This FUN, highly entertaining & empowering self-defense class is designed to teach girls, 11-13 years, the importance of awareness and setting appropriate boundaries. Students practice their techniques using role-play scenarios. This class provides powerful skills; verbal defense against mean behaviors, conflict resolution with friends, dealing with a “Yo-Yo” friend and girl-drama. Play It Safe teaches children to recognize inappropriate behavior, how to set boundaries, trust their instincts and use their voice when someone or something doesn’t feel right. Physical self-defense techniques will also be taught, along with summer safety tips. Students will also receive valuable reference materials to take home and a Certificate of “Awareness.” Girl Scouts and Y-Guides earn a patch. This class is taught by Tracie Arlington, black-belt and child safety expert.
